Epigenetics
Epigenetics is the study of biological mechanisms that will switch genes on and off, to be put as a simplified definition. What does that mean? Epigenetics is a relatively new discovery that states that are lifestyle issue, such as diet, smoking, etc..that have the ability to change the instructions for how inherited genes act. The crazy and even scary discovery is that the gene instructions can carry on for several generations. In other words, a lot of our gene behavior has been found to have a connection yo the diets of our mothers and grandmothers. YIKES!!
